Being With
Bristol Mindfulness Therapy
UKCP Core Process Therapist (Trainee)
Welcome
And please come as you are.To support this, I offer a secure, confidential and safe space in which to explore and be with what is happening in your life. There are many you might wish to begin therapy. For example, you could be experiencing anxiety or depression; or there may be challenges or difficulty in important relationships.
You could be facing into a crisis, or there may just be a more general sense that things aren't going in the right direction.
Mindfulness based Therapy
The type of therapy I offer is called Mindfulness-Based 'Core Process' Psychotherapy (MBCPP).
This form of holistic therapy pays close attention to both body and mind, drawing on buddhist and western psychology. There is a particular recognition of the importance of how we experience ourselves and others in the context of our key relationships, as this is often where difficulties can arise.
By working together mindfully, we may enquire into the nature of your experience to better understand how this is reflected in relationship.Insight along the way will often arise collaboratively, born of a relational connection which we will aim to develop together. This is further enabled and supported, importantly, in the context of a wider spiritual holding.
I am accredited by the the UK Council for Psychotherapy, the leading organisation for psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors in the UK.I have trained with the Karuna Institute, a training body that has pioneered mindfulness-based therapies that draw from buddhist and westerns psychological models since the 1970s.
I offer both short-term and longer-term therapy based upon what is needed. I am experienced in working with clients facing challenge with relationships; trauma; depression/ anxiety and stress. I also have a special interest in meditation, spiritual emergency and psychedelic integration.
About me
I live in Bristol, which has been my home now for many years.I previously worked as a teacher then lawyer, but chose to become a therapist because I had found therapy hugely helpful myself.I have found greater fulfilment by looking into the challenging issues that arise in life for so many of us, yet may not always be easy to address. In coming to a better understanding of the many experiences that make us human, including those that cause us pain and sorrow, I believe we can eventually open to more of what life has to offer. If you would like to try a free introductory session, please feel free to contact me by email:
I look forward to meeting you!
